The Illinois Investment Policy Board is tasked with ensuring investment of public money does not occur in entities that are prohibited from investment by Illinois law. Illinois law currently prohibits investment in certain companies that do business in Iran as well as companies that boycott Israel, expatriated entities, and for-profit companies that contract to shelter migrant children.

The Illinois Investment Policy Board was created by Public Act 99-128.
